A Closer Look at Sandals’ New Over-The-Water Suites

Luxury travel is wanting the world at your feet and the butler by your side.

Later this year, the Sandals Royal Caribbean Spa Resort & Offshore Island in Montego Bay, Jamaica will open the first over-the-water luxury suites in the Caribbean where guests stay in a Tahiti-style bungalow equipped with glass floors that peek into the vast marine life in the turquoise water below their feet. When the sun goes down, guests can still enjoy watching what the ocean life is up to because it’s lit for night viewing.

These five suites each offer guests 1,600 square feet of space and come with a private outdoor Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower, a hammock for two, indoor soaking tub and steps that lead from the sundeck to the ocean.

Of course, there is also a place to tie your boat as you relax at this high-end resort.

Located just minutes away from the airport, the resort’s private island and secluded beach is all-inclusive and includes an authentic Thai restaurant, beachfront grill, a pool with a whirlpool and swim-up pool bar. Guests can have full access to the restaurants, pools and bars at both nearby Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Carlyle with the Stay at One, Play at Three exchange privileges.

If you need more to your vacation than just watching the fish swim by, in Sandals Montego Bay’s reef-protected waters, paddle boards, water hammocks, windsurfing, wakeboarding, waterskis and hobie cats are available. Sandals Carlyle is located directly across the street from a public white-sand beach and next to Montego Bay’s Famous ‘Hip Strip’ where there are bars, clubs and restaurants. Guests can shop and dance and enjoy such venues as Margaritaville, Blue Beat and Pier One.

Luxury means pampering and, of course, guests at Sandals Royal Caribbean Spa Resort & Offshore Island will have a personal butler who has been trained by Guild of Professional Butlers. The butler caters to the guests’ almost every whim, including unpacking and pressing their luggage, making meal accommodations, escorting guests to dinner and coordinating extra-curricular activities, such as the unlimited scuba diving that is available. When the day is done, the butler will turn down the bed for sleep.

The Sandals Royal Caribbean opens in November, 2016, but is available for reservations now. This resort definitely gives a new and better meaning to the term ‘sleeping with the fishes.’
