Looking for the most luxurious villa on the island of Crete? Maybe a small lodge in Sri Lanka? Or a chic pad in Paris? Travel advisors searching for exclusive vacation rentals a have a new resource with the launch last month of UltraVilla.com. Billed as the “little black book of holiday rentals,” the site is not a booking site but a directory of villas, lodges, chalets and apartments that have been handpicked to join the collection by luxury travel experts.

The site was founded by industry leaders Ileana von Hirsch of Five Star Greece, Madelyn Byrne of Paris Perfect, Andrew Loyd of Loyd Townsend Rose and Marina Gratsos of Carpe Diem Luxury Travel with the intent of creating an easy-to-use, one-stop solution for agents looking for the most exclusive of holiday rentals.

“We created UltraVilla because we could see there was a genuine need for a website that brought together the very best of the world’s villa and lodge specialists,” said von Hirsch, who is CEO of UltraVilla. “This is not a website with a million listings, but a refined directory that offers remarkable properties from companies we trust and who we can confidently declare are ‘the best’ at what they do.  We hope agents find the website not only a useful resource, but a trusted filter to finding their clients premier holiday rentals.”

The site connects agents and high-end travelers with villa experts who work with the properties on the site.

It can be searched by holiday theme or destination. And each search returns a list of properties as well as luxury-travel experts who specialize in that area. Like the properties, the site founders say, the experts are carefully selected and represent the very top of their field.

The site is free to use, and all of the properties pay a commission. Commissions vary, however, as all the bookings are made directly with the company offering the property.
