Princess Cruises has revealed further details on its new vessel Royal Princess, set to launch next year. The Royal Princess weighs in at 141,000 tons and can carry 3,600 passengers, making her slightly bigger than last year’s major debuts, the Disney Dream, Carnival Magic and Celebrity Silhouette.
The cruise line design wars are heating up again as Princess unveiled plans for their largest ship to date, The Royal Princess.
As well as featuring existing design elements present on current Princess ships, the plans will see the addition of a new ice cream outlet and a luxury gift shop, catering to passengers celebrating major events such as birthdays and weddings on board.
A variety of tantalizing aromas waft from the atrium’s eateries, where you’ll always be served great-tasting cuisine freshly prepared from scratch – no matter what’s on the menu!
Satisfy your cravings with a quick bite from one of our tempting casual eateries that really hit the spot!
- Alfredo's Pizzeria - serving hand-tossed Neapolitan-style pizza, hot out of the oven
- Ocean Terrace - fresh new seafood bar
- Gelateria - a refreshing scoop of rich, creamy Italian-style gelato
- International Cafe - fresh pastries, warm cookies and paninis just off the press
- Vines - wine, sushi and tapas bar
Our elegant specialty restaurants are the perfect place to celebrate a special night out. With menus that reflect regional flavors from around the world, we only serve dishes made with the freshest ingredient
Outside, guests will be able to walk along a new glass-bottomed walkway which extends over 28 feet (8.5 meters) from the edge of the vessel.
In a preview video (below), the atrium is shown as a ‘street-cafe’-style open space, with glass staircases, backlit floors and venues that appear to float in mid-air, a new design style which the line describes as an ‘evolution’ of its current atriums.
On the top deck, there will be a new adults-only pool and other new pools which surround a tropical “island” that offers sunbathing by day and an outdoor nightclub in the evenings. Private cabanas for the ultimate in poolside lounging will be available.
The first preview cruise will depart in June of 2013 and the Maiden Voyage will see the Royal Princess tour the Mediterranean, Princess confirmed.
