NEW YORK, Sept 25 ― The Ritz-Carlton has topped a new report that ranks the most popular luxury hotel brands. For the list, analysts used data from TripAdvisor’s public review forum, looking primarily at how a hotel was ranked against the competition in its city. And according to TripAdvisor, travellers are happiest with their stays at the Ritz, a Marriott-owned brand.
In Quebec, the Ritz-Carlton ranks first out of 164 hotels. In London, the brand is ranked 22nd out of 1,052 hotels, and its Central Park location 46th out of 469 hotels in New York.
Rounding out the top three spots are traditional luxury brands at the top end of the high-end spectrum such as the Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and Raffles Hotels & Resorts.
Interestingly, the top 10 list is conspicuously absent of well-known, established brands such as the Four Seasons, Peninsula, St. Regis and Waldorf Astoria.
