Frasers Property (UK) Ltd have integrated glazed “conservatory style” winter gardens into some apartments at their Riverside Quarter scheme, providing residents with panoramic views of the Thames and surrounding cityscape. The winter gardens concept originates from Australia, Singapore and other Asian countries, offering indoor/outdoor living through a stylish, glazed and decked conservatory-style space, enabling residents to enjoy the sunshine and ambience of the outdoors whilst shielded by glazing on colder days.
Located on Osiers Road in Wandsworth, Riverside Quarter provides a new Thames-side destination for London, offering a mixture of residential, retail and leisure facilities designed with landscaping and public spaces. Once complete, Riverside Quarter will provide nine elegant apartment buildings containing a community of over 400 luxurious one, two, three and four bedroom apartments and penthouses.
Riverside Quarter overlooks the Thames and consists of stylish, modern apartments and landscaped communal spaces. In apartments facing the Thames there are winter gardens, which are a skilful fusion of conservatories and balconies, with louvered glass walls enabling residents to control the indoor temperature by pivoting the panes accordingly. The winter gardens are entered through French style sliding glass doors from the main living space, which can be folded away to take advantage of the indoor/outdoor living on offer
Simon Lear, CEO Developments of Frasers Property (UK) Ltd commented: “Frasers is a multi-national brand, which has projects in Singapore and Australia where winter gardens are a popular design feature. We have incorporated this innovative design into our Riverside Quarter scheme where there is a high demand for indoor/outdoor living. Many of our residents use their winter gardens as dining rooms-cum-entertaining spaces allowing guests to enjoy the river and cityscape of London.”
Master planned and designed by award winning architects Careyjones Chapmantolcher, the latest building to be unveiled is Five Riverside, which was launched in January 2016; with Seven Riverside launching for sale towards the end of 2016. Both of these new apartment buildings consist of two and three bedroom apartments and duplex penthouses for sale with Savills.
Tim Tolcher, Director of Careyjones Chapmantolcher commented: “When designing Riverside Quarter we wanted to create versatile living spaces for residents to enjoy and make the most of the views on offer without compromising on space – winter gardens do just this, as residents are not restricted by the weather to enjoy the outdoors.”
The apartments and penthouses all comprise of an open-plan breakout area with large kitchen, dining and living area, complete with floor to ceiling mood lighting and heated floors. Within the apartments that contain the winter gardens, the breakout areas span the full width of one side of the buildings, making it the perfect space for entertaining guests.
Each kitchen space comes fully custom designed, with Corian worktops and integrated appliances. The bedrooms have generous dimensions, many of which feature en-suite bathrooms. All bathroom suites have integrated mirror-fronted cabinets, ideal for storage, white steel bath, wall mounted WC and ceramic basin.
The duplex penthouses at Five Riverside spans the entire width of the building with one floor devoted to the open-plan living, kitchen and dining space. On the upper floor, there is the master bedroom, study and utility area.
Riverside Quarter contains secure underground parking, 24-hour estate management including concierge and porterage service, as well as video door entry system. Residents can benefit from a range of private leisure facilities including a gymnasium, jacuzzi, and an indoor swimming pool.
Riverside Quarter is located on Osiers Road, just off Point Pleasant between Wandsworth Town Railway Station (South West Train services) and East Putney (District Line zone 2/3), and is also serviced by the Thames Clipper Service, which runs to the West End and other areas.
